Bataan Intercultural Society

Dear Prof.Dr.Kennedy Songwe Ph.D,

Bataan Intercultural Society is a civic group of students, teachers, scholars, philosophers, social scientists, theologians, and social science advocates.

Vision.  A culturally aware, inclusive, and gsocially responsible society in Bataan where dialogue, leadership, research, and community engagement foster peace, mutual respect, and sustainable development among diverse cultures and generations.

Mission.  The Bataan Intercultural Society is committed to promoting intercultural understanding and social development through free public education, youth leadership formation, community-based initiatives, research, and publication. It seeks to serve as a platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration among individuals, institutions, and communities from diverse cultural, social, and intellectual backgrounds.

General Objectives

The Society aims to:
1. Promote intercultural dialogue, education, and understanding through accessible and inclusive programs.
2. Empower youth and emerging leaders to become socially responsible, culturally sensitive, and community-oriented individuals.
3. Contribute to community development through participatory, research-informed, and culturally grounded initiatives.
4. Advance scholarly research and publication in the fields of culture, society, education, history, and intercultural studies.
5. Strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, local government units, civil society organizations, and research bodies.

Specific Objectives

Specifically, the Society shall:
1. Organize free lectures, seminars, workshops, and forums on intercultural, social, ethical, educational, and developmental issues.
2. Design and implement youth leadership programs, trainings, and mentoring activities that promote civic engagement, ethical leadership, and intercultural competence.
3. Conduct community development projects addressing local needs through education, cultural engagement, capacity-building, and social participation.
4. Undertake research activities, including field studies, surveys, documentation, and interdisciplinary studies relevant to culture and society.
5. Publish and disseminate research outputs, journals, books, policy papers, and educational materials for public benefit.
6. Encourage volunteerism, academic freedom, inclusivity, and collaboration among members and partner institutions.
7. Serve as a non-partisan, non-sectarian, and institutionally-drafted structure dedicated to education, research, history, philosophy, theology, and community services.
